Vets Role Play Corner
On their return from the half term holidays the children found out that our Home Corner became a Veterinary Surgery.
It has been lovely to see the children re-enact their owns experiences during their play.
They have taken on the role of a vet, a receptionist, an animal, a pet owner and a surgeon.
Children have freely explored an imaginary world and benefited so much from it, already. I cherish their imagination and the gorgeous stories they are coming up with.
This role play has supported children to:
- Practise and role play their understanding and interpretation.
- Develop social skills such as practising negotiation skills, turn taking and sharing.
- Provides opportunities for working out problems and experimenting with solutions.
- Understanding and expressing their feelings through the re-enactment of certain experiences.
- Taking on roles that encourage discipline and empathy.
- Encourages imagination: Children can be anyone and do anything in the pretend world.
- Develop language skills by practising listening, looking and talking.
