Cuckoos - Term 1 Week 7
And just like that... Term 1 is finished! We have had such an incredible first term in Cuckoos and have jumped straight in with our learning. This week has been another busy week for us. We began the week with a science investigation - Which material is best at absorbing water? On Tuesday we got the chromebooks out and developed our skills at using the trackpad to create a picture on the chromebooks; we also discussed different feelings, how different feelings feel on the 'inside' and 'outside', and how we can help ourselves and others to change uncomfortable feelings into comfortable feelings. On Wednesday we had PE with Mrs Mileham and we continued developing our football skills; we also created sliders in DT - we did such a great job, just look at how well they turned out! When we came into school on Thursday our classroom had changed and everything had a different place so we had to explore the new layout and play with some of our new resources! Many of us spent our provision time creating drawings in the style of Piet Mondrian, sliders (using the technique we learnt in DT), constructing, and completing maths and writing! Finally, we ended our week with lots of Geography - we used a map of the classroom to plan and follow a route from one area to another and were also joined by our house captains in the afternoon to help us label a map of the school. We are definitely ready for a rest now!
