A Victorian Christmas

Swallow Class loved exploring Victorian Christmas traditions at Kent Life on Thursday. We met Charles Dickens, made our own candles, found out about Christmas in the workhouse and we played with some of the toys that rich Victorians may have received from Father Christmas.

"I'd say my favourite thing about the trip was the candle making because it made us feel like we actually lived in the Victorian times without electricity." - Bella V

"I loved the workhouse because I liked learning about the jobs that children did in the workhouse and what happened to them when they were naughty!" Zoe C

"The toy workshop was my favourite because I liked playing with all the toys that we don't have today." Darcy E
